The Monarch Casino Black Hawk was formerly known as the Riviera Black Hawk and the following review was written about the previous casino. The new Monarch Casino opened in April 2012 - HAHA...I just moved out to Colorado recently, so I was in awe that the only place you could gamble at was Black Hawk. Wow, OMG the first place I went to was the Riviera and started doing Blackjack. I (unfortunately) lost about a grand playing. I was then told to leave (even though I was spending all sorts of money and tipping everyone generously, everyone was very rude.) It's just a disgusting establishment and should be closed down; there are soooo many better ones in Black Hawk, for what the place is.....DO NOT GO HERE!!!
