At any given moment in time, hundreds of golfers are cascading through the automatic front doors!! They are pretty guarded, however, but you can find a live one from time to time. I actually found a former "Soul Train" dancer and dragged him out to the dance floor, which is great to flaunt your dancing style because they have a lot of great entertainment. A lot of their performers/bands are from Vegas and get a gig in Mesquite--music of the 70s-80s--you know, the disco and fun to dance music. The dance floor is not crowded during the week, so you can practice your creative dance moves and show off (if you are into that). Slots are pretty horrible here, overall, but I had my "two" that I enjoyed playing and watching people. I came for the weekly $1000 drawing; that brought the people in. A very serious video poker player plays here and will win; gave me some lessons and we wrote a song together while he sat there losing his money, smoking a cigarette. The gals here made regular rounds with the drinks so they kept the crowds happy. The slot techs were the best. Again, it's about taking care of the locals (I moved eventually) and watching out for them, caring about them and how their life is going. The people at the player's club were always helpful, friendly and courteous. There is a nice steak house on the property and I ate there a couple of times, but the other restaurant with sandwiches--I tried it a few times and could not eat the food.
