You can't really beat the location. My room was in the left tower in the middle of the casino but I forget the name. There was a lot of music noise from outside and the air conditioner was a little noisy. I booked a premium room this time so I hope things are better. I like playing 1/2 no limit poker and found the summer promotion of a Sunday free roll to be worth $500 to me. I hope they repeat it this summer. The $18 resort fee hit me this year and if I did not have over $400 in comps I would have probably booked a different place. There is just not anything special about this place. You get exactly what you pay for. I like virtual BJ but they only pay 6:5 at Harrah's. (I could not find any at 3:2 Like I did in 2010.) I refuse to play 6:5 BJ. You would think they could pay 3:2 given there is no dealer to pay. ]]> Sun, 19 May 2013 21:43:32 +0000 <![CDATA[Harrah's Las Vegas: no better location]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2506319 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2506319 Not much more good to say other than their great center strip location. Video poker is unplayable, and the blackjack rules are terrible. The recently moved poker room usually only offers 1/2 NL or 2/4/Limit and that's it. Rooms are better than average but that's all folks. ]]> Wed, 13 Mar 2013 19:35:26 +0000 <![CDATA[Harrah's Las Vegas: great location]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2506272 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2506272 Location, location, location, it is great right in the middle of the strip. I think the casino has a great vibe, but since I am a vp player and their pay tables are bad, except for high rollers. They have varied entertainment and restuarants, from a quick snack to expensive restuarants. If you are a dedicated CET player this can be a great place and value. ]]> Wed, 20 Feb 2013 02:27:58 +0000 <![CDATA[Harrah's Las Vegas: Hoppin' at Harrahs]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2505175 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2505175 I've been to Harrah's a few times since there is one local to me and I can get discounted rooms in Vegas. I've never been disappointed with Harrah's but at the same time never overly thrilled. The resturaunts all have decent food, although if you're looking to really fill up Toby Keith's offers very healthy portions. Casino action isn't bad but nothing really sets it appart from any of the other strip casinos. The two things I really do like about Harrah's though is the location, right in the middle of the strip. If you like to walk you are about equal distance from the north and south end of the strip. Also, Carnival Court is great if you like live music. I enjoy setting there just catching a local cover band and even playing a few hands of BJ on their outdoor tables if I get in the mood. ]]> Fri, 10 Feb 2012 19:43:39 +0000 <![CDATA[Harrah's Las Vegas: Location,Location, Location!!!]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504920 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504920 We have stayed in Harrah's so many times I sometimes feel like it's my second home.We even had our Family Reunion at Harrah's! We haven't stayed in the last few years mainly because we wanted to try other places. The best thing about Harrah's is LOCATION! It's situation next door to Imperial Palace (another property of Harrah's), across from Ceasar's Palace, right in the middle of everything on the strip. Their food is pretty good but has become quite expensive the last few years. The second best thing about Harrah's to me is that their poker room is pretty active and is an enclosed, non-smoking poker room. That alone will get there to play poker. There is an area between Harrah's and Imperial Palace outside that has many kiosks, shops, and a big bar. This place is really fun even for an old coot like me. Their bar opens about 10 am, often with a band starting out at the same time. They have the bartenders who spin, swirl, and juggle the bottles, lots of kiosks selling cool stuff...it's quite the swinging place. When my daughters who are in their 20s visited, I suggested they should go check it out. They did and they agreed it was a fun and "hot" place to be. So Harrah's is always a good choice. ]]> Wed, 07 Dec 2011 04:48:20 +0000 <![CDATA[Harrah's Las Vegas: Mac King - Beyond Expectations]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504901 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504901 Saw Mac King last trip I was there for the first time. It's one of those shows you see the ads for and say 'nah, I'll skip it' or something to that affect. This show was a great way to spend a hour and a bit one afternoon. Mac King is underrated. His show was fantastic. Extremely funny and his tricks were great! Would definitely go and see this again. As for the casino, it needs some work. It has a strange layout. It does have a decent VP section with a lot of machines. Not the greatest odds, but great selection... I am a platinum card holder and always get free offers for rooms. The reservationists are always the nicest people to deal with. I HAVE never had a problem. The hotel staff also are very nice. I always save my comps that I use when I am there for the breakfast buffet. IT IS ALWAYS WONDERFUL. The watermelon was so fresh when we were there in APRIL that I JUST wanted to pull a chair up to the counter of the buffet. I always have a good time playing the slots there. Actually do better there than at home. I always feel safe in their hotel and have never had a problem. ]]> Wed, 30 Nov 2011 20:46:00 +0000 <![CDATA[Harrah's Las Vegas: I Love This Bar & Grill and the hotel is okay too!]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504741 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504741 I’m not big on the hotel portion of this place, but it’s “okay”. I prefer the Mardi Gras tower over the other one. As far as the casino/dining options at Harrah’s, I enjoy it. They have a decent buffet, and I’m a fan of Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill. It’s touristy to visit places like that, but I can’t help but be a fan of it. The food was good, and I got a kick out of serving drinks in a mason jar. There are better options to stay at on the strip, but Harrah’s is great for location and you can usually get a pretty good price on a room here. ]]> Mon, 31 Oct 2011 18:57:16 +0000 <![CDATA[Harrah's Las Vegas: Noisy, but fun.]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504684 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504684 We've stayed a Harrah's several times. Once they put us in a room that was right above the outdoor bar and the noise was so loud that we couldn't sleep, so after that, we requested a room in the other tower. Didn't win very often, tho. ]]> Fri, 28 Oct 2011 18:39:04 +0000 <![CDATA[Harrah's Las Vegas: Nice, reasonably mid-strip place to stay]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504504 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/harrahs-las-vegas.html/discussions/2504504 Harrah's is a great and affordable place to stay mid-strip. Their selection of games is excellent, although their video poker pay schedules are not great (typical of a Caesars Ent. property). They are very generous with their free room offers, even for low rollers. The rooms are clean just be sure to stay away from the rooms adjacent to Carnival Court! KGB burgers are great! ]]> Tue, 04 Oct 2011 22:12:14 +0000
